I just read a pair of articles in today's Wall St.Journal, both regarding efforrs to get more affordable housing in urban areas. I've heard about crazy trends in rentals in places like San Francisco -- for which Berlin stands in quite nicely. Joanne and I went to the first showing of Spielberg's "The Post" here in Vero Beach. (It premiered in December in Washington, of course.) The film is marvelous, right up there with "All the President's Men" (which came out two decades ago) -- and it is sorely needed after this first wretched year of Trumpsky's reign

Last week, I read with interest the new book by Sen. Jeff Flake (he of the truly unfortunate family-name!), "Conscience of a Conservative." It is far better written and more thoughtful than any screed by a Republican in my experience
